Two Indian cricketers in England have been diagnosed with Covid. Players with the confirmed disease were transferred to isolation. The BCCI, however, declined to say whether all the cases were confirmed. The players who have been diagnosed with the disease may not play in next Tuesday’s warm-up match.
The Indian team is scheduled to return to Durban on Thursday. The disease is reported to be caused by the Delta, a species of Kovid.
The report comes after BCCI chief Jay Shah warned the Indian team in the UK to be vigilant in the wake of Kovid’s outbreak. The content of Jay Shah’s letter was that Indian players should avoid going to Wimbledon and Euro Championships during the break-in England.
BCCI officials told PTI that one of the players, Covid, was positive and had no symptoms. BCCI sources said the player was under surveillance at his friend’s place in the UK and would not be travelling to Durban with the team on Thursday.
