The CPI (M) has 12 ministers and a speaker; Representation of all constituent parties in the Cabinet except LJD and RSP

Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet formation discussions of the CPM are entering the final stage. The CPI (M) will get 12 ministerial and speaker posts. The CPI (M) had 13 ministers in the last cabinet. The CPI (M) will have four ministers and a deputy speaker. The Kerala Congress MLA will be given a Minister and a Chief Whip. The NCP and Janata Dal-S parties will get each ministry. The LJD has no minister. The decision was made to give him the status he deserves after the formation of the government. The ministers will be decided later.

Earlier, there were reports that all the ministers in the CPI (M) would-be newcomers. The party may not be willing to replace Health Minister KK Shailaja. The senior leaders believe that replacing Shailaja, who has been effective in the COVID and Nipah crises, would not be beneficial in this situation. All but one or two, including Shailaja, will be newcomers. K.T. If Jaleel is replaced, V. Abdurrahman may be considered.

Veena George is being considered for the speaker position. CPI (M) Central Committee member M.V. Govindan and state secretariat members K.S. Radhakrishnan, K.N. Balagopal, P. Sources close to the CPI (M) have suggested that Rajiv may also become a minister. V. Sivankutty, Saji Cherian, VN Vasavan, M. B. Rajesh, p. Nandakumar, C.H. And Kunjambu are also likely. Muhammad Riyaz, A.N. Shamsir may be considered one of them. Youth organizational excellence is a positive factor for both.

It is reported that the Kerala Congress may be given the power department or the public works department. The forest may be given to the NCP and the transport department to KB Ganesh Kumar. The CPI (M) is trying to reach an agreement with the allies as soon as possible ahead of tomorrow’s Left Front meeting.
