Criticism of Union Minister is not good for the party; V Muraleedharan walked out of the BJP meeting

Kozhikode: Union Minister V Muraleedharan protested from the BJP Kozhikode district leadership meeting. Muraleedharan stepped down after criticism that the BJP state leadership had failed and that the party was not benefited by the Union Minister.

Muraleedharan’s protest came after a group of district office bearers criticized him. The minister was further incensed by the criticism leveled by the Koyilandy constituency president.

The Union Minister, who left the online meeting, did not even address the meeting.

At the same time, there was a war of words at the BJP review meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday. Criticism of the state leadership was raised at the district election review meeting held under the chairmanship of state president K Surendran.

Criticism was that the decision to field a candidate was delayed due to the defeat of Kazhakoottam. Candidate JR Padmakumar took the stage to criticize the Nedumangad constituency and the report of the constituency committee. Later, when the former district president and S Suresh came on the scene with criticisms, K Surendran directed to call the district committee and discuss the fall.

The meeting also assessed that the BJP votes, including Nem, were leaked. It is estimated that VV Rajesh, the district president who contested in Vattiyoorka, got only party votes. The BJP won a majority in only nine wards. Rajesh’s claim that he got more votes than Vattiyoorkavu got in the by – election angered the then candidate S Suresh.

This time, the community votes received with the support of BDJS in 2016 and beyond were not received this time. The leaders said it was going to the LDF. But Sobha Surendran’s absence from the meeting was discussed.
